About Sonya D. Wright

Sonya D. Wright is the Founder of Beauty From Ashes Youth Leadership Academy, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit preparing to launch the first all-girls Christian Academy in Central Georgia. 

She is a faith leader, educator, author, speaker, and advocate whose life and work are rooted in Kingdom education—because shaping hearts matters just as much as shaping minds.

During her tenure at Central Fellowship Christian Academy in Macon, Georgia, Sonya served as both a second-grade and third-grade teacher, investing deeply in her students academically, spiritually, and emotionally. Those years confirmed what she believes at her core: education is ministry. Kingdom education is not just what she does—it’s who she is.

In obedience to God’s call, Sonya stepped away from full-time teaching to birth Beauty From Ashes Youth Leadership Academy—a vision created to restore identity, build confidence, and equip young girls to lead with faith, courage, and purpose. The academy will open on August 10, 2026, carrying the mission of Building Bold Girls for a Bright Future.

Alongside her husband, Pastor Lee A. Wright, Sonya co-pastors Elevation Worship Ministries International, where she serves through teaching, discipleship, and pastoral care. She is also an International Best-Selling Author and a sought-after speaker, known for addressing faith, leadership, healing, education, and justice with both truth and compassion.

Sonya holds a bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministry, a Graduate Certificate in Pastoral Counseling, and will complete her Master of Arts in Human Services Counseling: Marriage & Family in May 2026. Her education reflects her heart for strengthening families, nurturing healthy relationships, and serving people with wisdom and grace.

A servant and survivor, Sonya believes no challenge is greater than the God she serves. Through her unwavering faith and obedience to God’s call, she continues to inspire others to trust the Lord fully, walk boldly in purpose, and live lives that leave a lasting, Kingdom-centered impact.
